This post is as lazy as the Irish Eurovision entry. Nonetheless RAT TRAP showcases what I consider to be Bob and Dustin's best work.
Dustin has been tamed down in recent years though on occasion he continues to create remarks of ridicule about various Irish celebrities and the services provided by RTÉ. Also as a builder he conforms to stereotype, going on continual tea breaks, and indicating that he is prepared to do dodgy deals with anybody, including certain politicians. Uniquely in Irish public life, he has not received any reprimand or'gagging request'
He released his Greatest Hits album in 2001, which featured just two new songs, a Christmas version of Bruce Channel's Hey Baby, called Hey Santa, and a dance remix of Sweet Caroline. On November 4, 2005, he released his first new single for 4 years, Patricia the Stripper, a duet with Chris de Burgh aka Christy Burger. On November 11, 2005, he then released a new album, also his first for 4 years, called Bling When You're Minging.
These albums have featured backing vocals from many Irish stars including Bob Geldof, Boyzone and the late Joe Dolan. Many of his songs are parodies of either folk songs or well known chart hits from across the decades. He famously made the news in Britain one year when he was number one in Ireland with his songs Christmas Tree and Rat Trap (a cover version of the Boomtown Rats song which he sang with Bob Geldof, and made fun of him throughout), when in just about every other country the Christmas number one spot went to the Spice Girls with their song 2 Become 1.so says wikipedia

THERAPY? -SCREAMAGER
Formed in 1989, Therapy? are a three piece from Northern Ireland. The band quickly built up an impressive reputation for their uncompromising and visceral live shows. Their earlier albums possess a violent, almost industrial intensity. 'Troublegum', Therapy?'s forth album saw them take a lighter more melodic approach and as a result the band crossed over into the mainstream and won numerous awards in both Ireland and the UK. The song "Screamager" epitomises this new approach. The follow up to "Troublegum"- 'Infernal Love"- earned them fleeting popularity in the US. After that it was decreasing record sales and 2002 saw them without a record deal. Recently however Therapy signed a worldwide deal with Demolition Records and the band has begun the writing process for their 12th studio album, which is scheduled for release towards the back end of 2008.
Origin of the bands name-Therapy (in Greek: θεραπεία), or treatment, is the attempted remediation of a health problem, usually following a diagnosis. In the medical field, it is synonymous with the word "treatment". Wikipedia
GREAT songs form the Irish music scene- WHIPPING BOY "WE DON'T NEED NOBODY ELSE"
WHIPPING BOY "WE DON'T NEED NOBODY ELSE"
A Dublin band hailed as the next U2. Released a critically acclaimed album "HEARTWORM". . Their third album failed to match the promise of their first major label recording. Lou Reed touted them as his favourite act and offered them a support slot on his tour. They sadly faded into obscurity after this tour.
The song "WE DON'T NEED NOBODY ELSE" stirred up a lot of controversy at the time and some members of the press took offence at it's allegedly misogynistic lyrical content.
Origin of the name WHIPPING BOY- "A whipping boy, in feudal times, was a boy of the same age but lower rank raised with a prince or nobleman as a playmate, who was whipped in his place when the young nobleman -- too high in standing to be beaten by anyone below his father, who was often unavailable -- misbehaved or slacked in his studies, as a psychological 'indirect punishment'.
In modern times, the term has come to mean a scapegoat, or something that is a frequent recipient of undue pain, punishment or mistreatment, including inanimate objects." Wikepedia
